10 January 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: ”The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment. Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.“ Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Our life is formative by our words. They have spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical effects on our health, success, relationships, and wealth. The Lord revealed in prayer recently that many people’s tongues are defiled and are ensnared by them in anger, resentment and bitterness.

Words can build our wellness with blessings or break our strength with curses. Many are unwell because of curses from others, to self or to others. God spoke to Abraham,”I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”Genesis‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭Jesus taught,”What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭11.‬ ‭Our tongue is like a rudder which directs our entire vessel in life. We cannot change our words by our own strength but only with repentance and humility for the Lord to sanctify us by His Holy Spirit and Truth. And His truth shall set us free. Glory to God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, I repent of all careless words and curses in my life. Cleanse and sanctify my tongue that it is used only to give you praises and thanksgiving with a grateful heart. Let it be used to be a blessing to others for edification, exhortation and comfort. Break all curses of words in my life with the mighty and precious blood of Jesus at the Cross of Calvary. Direct my words with your Holy Word into your path of righteousness with peace, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
