“As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.” 1 Timothy 1:3-4 NKJV
Apostle Paul first assignment to Timothy is to ensure the Church in Ephesus are taught with sound doctrine, the gospel of Jesus Christ. In those days of the Roman Empire, the traditions, religiosity, idolatry and justification by the work of the flesh is rampant, Paul discerned about all the possible disputes and divisions satan could easily cause the Church to strife. Likewise, we have to focus on Godly actions, edifications and encouragement to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ rather than fighting doctrines, arguing theology
or using the Word of God to condemn either believers or pre-believers.
Love, Faith and Hope must always take precedents in our Walk in the Spirit as a disciple of Jesus Christ. In this New Year 2021, let’s begin by giving an encouraging and inspiring Word of God for one another. Praise God!
