Today’s Inspiration: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV. Jesus taught one cannot be filled with new wine into old wine skin for it will burst. Likewise you can’t sew a new cloth on the old for it will tear. Our spirit and soul needs to be renewed in order to contain what God has prepared for us. Like the father whose son was demonized and had to ask Jesus to help his unbelief before he encountered the deliverance miracle. Mark 9:24.
God has created our minds wonderfully for His healing, miracles, signs and wonders. We are intended to become the image of Christ. What is in your mind today? Is it the world or the Kingdom? Is it crisis or Christ? The greatest stronghold to spiritual, emotional and physical breakthroughs is idolatry, when our sickness is bigger than our Saviour, our grievance is greater than our God, and seeing our mess more than the Messiah. Therefore the first commandment has the power to break all idols in our lives. Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22. Many make mistakes by looking at problems or bad news to pray rather to God and His Good News to invade with power. The promises of God is our New Wine Skin. Glory to God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, let nothing separate me from your love, presence and intimacy. Create in me a new and pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me to put you first in all things, obeying your first commandment. Make me a New Wine Skin for your New Wine and let a fresh outpouring of Holy Spirit come upon your temple and house of prayer for all nations, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
