Today‘s Inspiration: ”The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.“ Psalms 103:8 NIV. Many may not know God intimately because they do not recognise Him as a Father and His love for us as His children. Our broken past can distort our image of God like a broken mirror especially in family dysfunction but God’s image comes from the Word of God which cannot be broken yet endures forever. Our love is limited but His love is not. The difference between our anger and God’s righteous anger is that he is patient for us to repent and turn back like a Father’s love to a prodigal son.
God saved my entire family through a single word and that is forgiveness. Repentance increases our capacity to love because gratitude is the best attitude. Sin can only be defeated by God’s love, forgiveness, and grace. No one knows how much pain there is in the Father’s heart to give His only son to die at the Cross for you and my salvation. John 3:16. Many do not dare to love again because of hurt in the past and it’s like a chasm which is blocked by bitterness, hatred, and resentment. That’s when Jesus resurrected and appeared to the disciples with his scars on his body. He has forgiven their sins and took away their shame and guilt forever. So shall we rise again with Christ. Praise unto God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, let my heart be steadfast and be still to know you are God, my Heavenly Father, who loves and watches over me. I thank you who forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases, who redeems my life from the pit and crowns me with love and compassion, who satisfies my desires with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s. You work righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. Thank you Lord, for I have strength to love again in Jesus' Name, Amen.
