Today's Inspiration: All a man's labor is for his mouth yet the appetite is not satisfied. Ecclesiastes 6:7. How much is considered enough for a man? This is the question provoking us when we find that no matter what we do men are never satisfied. Given a loaf they still want more. Since when is man satisfied? Covetousness tends to haunt our soul to get what was not granted to us. In the process we covet to our hurt.
King Solomon saw something that is beyond his comprehension. He saw a man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor so that his soul lacks nothing of all that he desires yet to him is vanity because he saw that he could not enjoy all the wealth he has accumulated. Ecclesiastes 6:2. This too is futility of life.
The Lord does not desire us to be lone rangers. There are no individualistic ministries neither individual spectators. There is only one Body- that of Jesus Christ called the church. Denial of self and to union with Christ and His church is the heart beat of Jesus. Our own self is not our highest purpose. God desires us to function corporately. Together we partake of His life and His life becomes ours. God created us from the beginning to be in unity and even up to His preparation of his departure from this world He prayed to His Father that we be one together with Him forever. Therefore as a member of Christ, we need to work in unity corporately forever.
What is the Gospel about? It's the resurrection of the body and the restoration of unity and wholeness of man. When God restored He restored all of man not only one aspect like man's spirit. You have been completely restored to God spirit, soul and body. Do not isolate one aspect of your redemption from another nor one aspect of your restoration to God from another. We are corporately a complete whole and function as such.
Prayer: Lord sanctify us in spirit and in truth. I pray that the Body of Christ maybe perfected in unity that the world may know we are His disciples. May we love one another as we love our own flesh. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
