Today’s Inspiration: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6. The church of God didn’t birth through comfortable times but troubled times when the disciples of Jesus were persecuted and pursued by the Roman soldiers as they were labelled “Christians”, the believers of Jesus.
It definitely doesn’t look like a cross worn as an ornament or T-shirt or even a car label that one is proud of a Christian. It’s a matter of life and death as a follower or disciple of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem.
Without the Holy Spirit, we will not have the Church and without the Pentecost, the disciples will not become apostles. We need the baptism of Holy Spirit to stir up the faith and know our roots of how the Church was birthed through blood and fire. Isn’t it the motto of the Salvation Army? Christ is the vine and we are His branches. A born-again Christian is wholly given to Christ, completely broken by the Cross, and fully resurrected by the Spirit of God. Those who have ears, let them hear. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let my heart be fully captivated by your Holy Spirit and Fire. Give me a new measure of faith to encounter your glory. I surrender my life and my heart to you. Let your face and light shine a new path for me to deny my flesh, carry the Cross, and follow you by faith, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
