Today’s Inspiration: “The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.” Luke 17:5-6 NIV. Jesus was teaching on faith to His disciples and he relates to sin, repentance and forgiveness. Our spirit, soul and body response to our Words and Faith in Christ Jesus. In the times of hostility and persecution of the Roman soldiers and religious leaders, Jesus and His disciples were preaching the gospel and healing the community with miracles, signs and wonders. God doesn’t response on our circumstances or situations, rather He response to our faith and believe. Zechariah 4:6.
Faith is not dependent on ourselves but on the Word of God. Faith is able to do impossible things like the woman with the issue of blood who touched Jesus hem and was healed. Faith is the receptacle of God’s power and authority for His children. Hebrews 11:6. Faith will always produce actions to trust God. David must pick up his stones, Zacchaeus must climb the tree and Simon Peter must lay down his nets. The centurion took Jesus’s word and the Phoenician woman believes in the crumbs. Faith is not the size which many are confused but the God whom you believe. “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:14-17. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:26 NIV.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me doers of your Word and not just hearers. Give me faith to forgive, love and care with actions, not just words. Increase my faith, O Lord, and give me boldness and courage to share your gospel to the poor, the sick and the lost, by your Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
