There is a difference between power and authority. Power is executed through one’s ability, but authority is exercised through one’s identity.
Spiritual dominance is revealed to us by the Cross and Christ is the finished work of God who restored what satan has stolen from Adam at the garden of Eden. What we have won over, we can’t go under. Our victory and dominance is in Christ who gives us the authority as a child of God and no longer slaves to sin and the devil.
It is for freedom that Christ sets us free. Galatians 5:1. Freedom is not liberty to do what we like but having the dominion to do what is right in the sight of God. When we know our identity in Christ, we are able to discern lies and deception of the enemy.
