Good Doctrine brings Spiritual Nourishment & Godliness

“If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.” 1 Timothy 4:6-7

Timothy was a young minister, devoted disciple and spiritual son of Apostle Paul. Christ’s Word of Faith must be our epic focus to follow sound doctrine. Many believers lives were destroyed due to false doctrine and this can happen to all ages. Spiritual maturity is not dependent on age or qualifications but on submission, obedience and humility to exercise Godliness. Apostle Paul also warn of the spirit of superstition because in Lycaonian where Timothy lives there are many idols and superstition is rampant. This also exist in Asian countries, including Singapore.

Therefore we need to build up our descendants with sound doctrine, and strong faith in Christ Jesus so that they may discern the fiery darts and lift up their Spiritual Shields. Ephesians 6:16.
