Discernment of Purpose

“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our identity comes from our purpose in life in Christ, not riches, power or fame. It doesn’t mean you are rich that you are purposeful and it doesn’t mean you are poor and is purposeless. On the contrary I have people who are not rich but live a joyful and purposeful life for the Lord and those who despite having all luxury, is lonely and discontent. A purpose drive life for Christ is important to encounter the Kingdom of God, on earth as it is in heaven. It’s only through Christ we can discover our purpose on the earth and know God’s plan in putting us here. Jeremiah 29:11.

Many a times, our purpose is revealed in our sowing and our identity emerges through God’s calling. Be discerning and prayerful for the Lord to show and lead you into your purpose and identity in Him. To know how to operate a machinery you need to read the instructions. Likewise to discern your purpose, you need to read the Word of God daily.

To God be the glory!
