“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you,” declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 41:13-14 NIV
I remember when Jacob was met with Esau. It was extremely distressing, knowing what he has done before and what his brother will do to him and his family. It was unthinkable. Nothing was able to help Jacob for his past is catching up on him because of his sins and lies. By God’s grace he ran into the ladder of grace, the angel of the Lord, and the blessing as he humbled and wrestled in intercession and prayers. Remember that our trials and tests humbles us so that we know the importance and power of Prayer, Intimacy and Dependency on God. Praise God!
Last time as a young Christian I used to be unhappy with the word “worm” but growing to know Christ, I knew the importance of humility, obedience and submission are attributes of spiritual maturity and Christ likeness. That’s also where you find God’s love and tender mercies for you.
To God be the glory!
