A Good Steward

“There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it. He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor. A wise man scales the city of the mighty, And brings down the trusted stronghold. Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.” Proverbs‬ ‭21:20-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year until the thirty-second year of King Artaxerxes, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the governor’s provisions. But the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people, and took from them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people, but I did not do so, because of the fear of God. Indeed, I also continued the work on this wall, and we did not buy any land. All my servants were gathered there for the work.” ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭5:14-16‬.

The kingdom of God is not just about riches and prosperity but of humility and sacrifices. People will not remember how much riches you have, rather it is how much you have helped and touched their lives through your sacrifices. Such is the life of Jesus and His ministry. He didn’t live in palaces nor great mansions, rather He was the great shepherd and steward of God’s divine will and purposes to bring salvation to our souls at the Cross of Calvary.

To God be the glory!

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
