9 July 2021 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: Let the words of instruction from the mouth of God be established in your heart. Job 22:22. Once established and convicted, there will be change. Until then transformation is difficult. However the meditation of the word must be soaked in prayer.

The purpose of prayer is not to persuade or influence God but to join with Him against the enemy Satan. It is in the prayer's inner chamber that we find special power against temptation by the flesh. Nothing gave Satan a free hand than the spirit of criticism with its roots of bitterness and hatred. Prayer is useless when we bear unforgiveness. Before we pray, let's make peace with ourselves and any who has offended us. Unkindly feelings towards another hinder God from helping us in the way He desires.

There are times we believe we cannot conquer fears. This is wishful thinking. Rom 8:37 promised us that we are more than conquerors. So there is nothing we cannot conquer. It's all in the mind. Is it of doubt or unbelief or that of unwavering trust in the Lord our God? Only our belief can move us forward. God's army needs to be filled with holy habits of consistent prayer. God's army must comprise men who heed the voice of God and His commission and not those who give excuses. His army must excel in godliness. His mightiest leaders are those who know how to use weapons of prayer. Heroes of faith outlined in Hebrews 11:32-34 are powerful men of prayer who walk by faith more than by sight. Therefore do not throw away your confidence in all aspects of life but instead endure even in the midst of trials so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:36. The righteous one shall live by faith. V38. God be praised.

Prayer: Heavenly Father there are none like thee O Lord among all the wise men of the Nations and in all their kingdoms. Thou art great. Great is your name in all the Earth. Therefore I shall heed your bidding. In Jesus’ name, amen.
