Today’s Inspiration: “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” II Timothy 2:4 NKJV. Apostle Paul uses a very powerful metaphor of a Christian life. When a soldier is enlisted, his life is no longer his and so is his rights and freedom. They are used for serving, protecting, and honouring the country. A soldier is one who is disciplined, determined and dedicated to the cause of the Nation as a Christian to the Kingdom of God. He serves a greater cause and purpose than himself in laying his life down for another. There is no greater love than this. John 15:13.
Would you lay down your life for Christ? We discovered many couldn’t win spiritual warfare because of self. Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:24-25. To bring healing, reconciliation and restoration of families, we have lay down our thoughts, emotions and words before Christ in humility. Humility is the weapon of warfare because it operates with the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 22:4. Only with humility can you wield the sword of forgiveness in the Spirit. The greatest power of God is love. Satan has to leave when love comes in. 1 John 4:18. Glory to God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, I am willing to lay down my thoughts, my emotions, my pride, my rights and wrongs before your throne of divine grace. Forgive my sins as I forgive others who sinned against me. Heal my wounds and restore my soul as I lay it all down at the Cross of Calvary. Let me be a soldier like Christ, who gave His life to save ours. Make me a peacemaker, a child of God, to bring peace to my family, work and ministry in Jesus' Name, Amen.
