Today's Inspiration: What God has joined together let no man separate. Mark 10:9. I believe this is not only for husband and wife but for brothers and sisters. Throughout scriptures God has called us to unity in the spirit. God placed us in the family of Christ to be a blessing to each other and to lift each other's spirits for the glory of God.
Yes we may be expected to be confronted by situations where nothing less than prayer demonstrated by Elijah and by Jesus will bring us to victory. Frequently it will record itself in powerful praises.
For Daniel there were no signs of answered prayer against his adversaries yet he never stopped praying. It was his prayer life that gave him his unique position in the history of his people. He had a company of friends who were united in the spirit supporting each other in prayer.
What were the lessons we can learn from his prayer? He has a set time and place each day that He gave exclusively to prayer. Daniel only prayed for His will for His people as revealed in the scripture. Daniel's prayer needed self denial and was accompanied by fasting. There are times when prayer are insufficient. They need to be supernaturally empowered by fasting. Daniel was totally committed to prayer. Even when he was cast into the lion's den, he did not waver. Effective prayer tests our character and demand single-hearted commitment.
Prayer: Lord I thank you for the spiritual weapons to follow the King of glory. May peace and assurance be with me all the days of my life to make me steadfast in my faith. I will be cautious over the words I speak over myself and of others that I might be pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
