7 Sept 2020 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: Psalm 34:6. The poor man cried and the Lord heard him and delivered him from all troubles. We can confess this scripture over and over again yet for years our prayer still remained unanswered. Sometimes I wonder why preachers do not return to the Lord undiseased. I also wonder why it seems so easy for people with great adversity to receive their healing in one encounter with the Lord.

As I sought the Lord to provoke my thoughts one thing comes to mind is that we do not approach the Lord with our petition with the spirit of humility. James 4:5-6.

It's not about your egotism or arrogance in your heart that hindered your prayer but we must come to the Lord with the right spirit. James 1:5-7. We need to approach our Lord with our prayer with full dependency upon the Lord expecting the answers. It seems easier said than done especially if you are fighting pain in your life but I have found in all my life the power of thoughts.

The Lord has shown me that we love the easy way out but there is no shortcut to success. You can repent till your face turn blue and proclaim all of God's promises in your life but if the image of thoughts is not focused on the Lord but the symptoms, you will never get out of the pit. In all the battles of David it was praises that help him to be an overcomer. You can declare that you are overcomers through the Blood of Jesus and the word of testimony and nothing happens. When we pray for you, deep in your heart must be your prayer of belief that all is well with your soul and the Lord remembers. It's like Noah in the ark. He and his family were forgotten and he must be praying a desperate prayer and why did God finally remember? He had to come out of the life of relaxation in the ark and asked God to remember him and not resign to fate. So, the Lord remembers and delivered him and his family. Genesis 8:1.

Are you praying, believing that nothing is impossible for God? Are you in abiding relationship with Him? Do you wait upon the Lord daily to renew your spirit day by day? Our life must be one of victory and not defeat. Be a victorious warrior! God be praised!

Prayer: Lord forgive me for the wrong attitude towards prayer. Lord you know all hearts and almost every attitude even before we approach You as you watch over us without slumber. You are our protector, fortress and deliverer our present help in times of need. Teach us Your ways that our path be made smooth. Level the mountain and let You be our Roadway to Holiness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
