Today’s Inspiration: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 NIV. Apostle Paul was addressing the condition of the souls of the believers. Religious spirit can easily put us on a performance driven ministry or stigmatising how faith shall look like, similarly by what the Pharisees imposed on Jesus. Our Lord and Messiah knew the evilness of their hearts and spoke candidly to them, to free the needy and sick souls from the shackles of the fear of man, their judgements, criticism and condemnation.

How many of us are so self-conscious of how people look at us? Even as pastors, leaders, church goers, fathers, and mothers, we face expectations from ministry, work and family daily. To grow spiritually is not doing more ministry, getting busier or increasing charitable works but how do we spend more time with the Lord, being with Him, reading His Word and hearing His voice to follow Him. John 10:27. When we fear man, we will have to always explain, justify and reason ourselves out to be good enough for others. These increase fear, anxieties, weariness and stress in our souls. But God has not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound, disciplined and balanced mind. 2 Timothy 1:7. When we fear God, we break loose from the fear of man and the shackles of self consciousness, bringing us into Christ consciousness. That’s when spiritual liberation takes place and healing, restoration and reconciliation can move bountifully into our souls and lives. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Galatians 5:1. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, set me free from the pressure of the world, the expectations of man and religiosity. Break all the shackles of fear, anxieties and stress in my soul. For I am wonderful, carefully and uniquely created by you and for you to be a blessing, a sower and a harvester by your grace to give you glory. I am not longer a slave to fear but a son and child of the Most high God, through Jesus Christ, my saviour and King. For Who the son of God who sets us free is free indeed, in Jesus Name, Amen!
