7 August 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬. ‭This message was to the Ephesus church that in the end of times, love will grow cold and people could leave their faith if their love for God is put in second place. Putting God’s love first is a spiritual life journey of formation, growth and maturity as a disciple of Jesus Christ. When we put God second, it opens door to idolatry for Satan to deceive, distract and detract us. It can directly affect our family, health and mental wellness. John 10:10.

This can happen while serving God in church without a personal time with Him, be it for pastors, leaders or volunteers. In the secular, we can be so busy with our business, career, projects, vacations, and pleasures. Our first love reflects our daily priorities. If God is not first, fear, anxieties, worries and stress can easily swamp and overwhelm us. Our first love also reflects the time which we are giving to whether to problems or prayers. We have to prioritise our relationship with God above all things. Christ must be our first love and His first call shall bring us to the right place, right people, and right time. Reflect and prioritise in this season. He will bring us back on track. Glory to God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, I chose to put you first above all thing to seek ye first your kingdom and your righteousness. Forgive me if I had not put you first. Today I surrender, yield and put my trust in you fully and wholeheartedly. Fill me with your Spirit of love, faith and hope once again. May your peace, presence, and providence be a bulwark of my life, family and work, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
