Today's Inspiration: Fear always grips us in times of uncertainty where doctors are clueless of our medical condition or when jobs are challenging. Yet God says that His perfect love casts out fear in 1 John 4:18. One does not know how privileged we are to be children of God. Just look at Moses. God had performed so much wonders for him yet in his heart he is still doubtful when God spoke that He knows Moses by name and has found grace in His sight. Exodus 33:12. He still asks who He shall send with him. The Lord's reply was His presence. V14. What an assurance!
Sometimes we do not know who we are and always imagine if God is pleased with us. This brings undue stress to us. Desire and hunger for God is all by His grace and not by our own efforts. It's like salvation is due to His gift of Grace. Ephesians 2:8.
Intimacy with God is illustrated by Moses through speaking great lengths and giving God every detail whenever he comes to God. God's instructions are also very detailed. Exodus 33:18-23. David's intimacy with God as a shepherd boy received favor from God to become King of Israel and was promised an eternal kingdom. 2 Samuel 7:8, 18. Jesus told Peter that who he declared Jesus was, had been revealed by His Father in heaven. Matthew 16:17. Hence God made us intimate with Him and revealed Himself to us.
Sometimes we wonder why with closer intimacy with God, we face many trials like Moses. Trials are placed to test and strengthen our faith and to bring us from worldly pleasures to His everlasting unsurpassable pleasures and to bring us closer to Him. It is meant to produce fruit of patience in you as well so that you be found complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4. In order to have the righteousness of God by His grace we need trials for God to reveal to us the source of His goodness to satisfy our soul. God will only reveal His secrets to those who fear Him. Psalm 25:14. Fearing God is not fearing punishment but in reverence before Him like Moses and Joshua did lingering in His presence. Exodus 33:11. Moses after receiving God's Revelation of who He is, bowed in worship in reverential fear. Exodus 34:8.
Trials maybe painful but the peaceable fruit is far sweeter than our expectations in long suffering. Why Moses wants to know more of His glory is to have more understanding of who He truly is. He cannot see His face. Exodus 33:23 but only a glimpse of His glory.
God's calling is to fulfill our destiny in Christ. He is calling us to real tangible sacrificial acts of love and good works to bring glory to our Father. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord may we give you priority to seeking You and have a glimpse of Your glory. To know You is more than enough for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
