Today’s Inspiration: Rebuilding lives and livelihoods can be challenging in this Pandemic for families. Just like the gates of Jerusalem and walls which Nehemiah was tasked by God to restored. At the most difficult moments and oppositions, he stood and told all,” Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, will fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” Nehemiah 4:14. Broken emotions can be difficult to face but God always have His grace for us in our prayers, petitions and thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6. God knows the needs of your family. Trust Him.
We have to overcome the emotional echoes of Tobiah and Sanballat, who will always threatens, oppose and criticise. Nehemiah didn’t take on the insults himself but to God in prayer for protection and power. His eyes was always on God’s purposes. He prayed,” Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back to their own heads.” Nehemiah 4:4. Give no foothold to the enemy when opposition and negative emotion arises but let God lay hold of your mind and hearts in peace, prayers and devotions. Invest intimacy time with God, for His purpose and will for us are weapons of the warfare. Eventually we saw the walls and city gates of Jerusalem were restored within 52 days miraculously. There is power taking all things to God in prayer. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord Our God, let us not turn our eyes away from you and give no foothold to the devil’s lies and deception. Guard our minds and our hearts with your peace. Philippians 4:7. Help us rebuild the broken places and restore us into the fullness and likeness of your beautiful image, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
