30 November 2021 Word by Senior Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: A Kingdom life is not about achievements or accolades, it’s about Christ and His likeness. Most parents today tend to focus on results and performance but less on the formation of a child’s heart and compassion. It can be a hard balance but wisdom comes from the Word of God. The psalmist says,” His (God’s) pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. Extol the Lord, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.” Psalm 147:10-12 NIV.

Man looks at the works but God looks at the heart.

Bring up a child in the ways of God’s Word and when he grows up, he will not leave the teachings. Proverbs 22:6 No one knows parenting when they become a parent. In Israel, the Torah is handed from father to child but in the church today, it is dependent on the pastor and teacher. The full gospel is the book of life in the family. Building a strong family in Christ is to put ourselves as a living sacrifice, given to Christ and being held accountable to God’s Word. Love is the heart of parenting. With more godly parenting, it profits all. 1 Timothy 4:8. All parenting wisdom is written in the Torah. Discipleship begins at home.

Prayer: O Lord My God, let me draw from your wells of salvation with joy and thanksgiving in my heart. Let the Torah, your Word be the blessing, wisdom and inheritance for my children and their descendants, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
