24 August 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s inspiration: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” I John‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV.‬‬ Satan uses the things of the world to cause strife, quarrels, and divisions in our lives be it in family, marketplace, schools and ministry. When we have a divided heart, sin and temptation comes in like in the garden of Eden, where Eve and Adam chose not to obey God and His Word.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. James‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭3.‬ ‭Complains, quarrels, strife and arguments comes from the flesh, the world and satan. Would you choose to turn your face when you are slapped or react with anger and rage as Jesus taught the disciples. Matthew 5:39. Peace makers are the children of God. Always chose to love than to win like Christ and only the Cross can defeat the flesh, death and the devil. Glory to God! The enemy is afraid of your forgiveness, repentance, faithfulness and love through Christ.

Prayer: O Lord my God, May your peace which surpasses all knowledge and understanding guard my mind and heart from all strife, distress and distractions from your calling, purpose, and will. Forgive my sins if I have been critical, quarrelsome and taking things into my own hands than surrendering them to you. You are my peace, my justice, and my righteousness. I choose to obey, forgive and make peace that I may gain your favour and follow your commands in Jesus' Name, Amen.
