20 December 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Divination is on the lips of the king; His mouth must not transgress in judgment.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV.‬‬ How do we know we are walking according to God’s plan and He is at work in our lives? We could plan all things but if our steps are not directed by the Lord, it is futile and fleshly. Even if a king’s authority can change one’s life, his rule and life can be short lived with sin. The Holy Spirit watches our walk more than our talk.

When God closes a door, it is meant for our protection and when He opens a door, it meant for our obedience. I remember I dislike learning piano and going for speech classes because I wanted to play as a child and have freedom as a youth, but my father directed my steps. They eventually became spiritual weapons and skills for worship and preaching in the ministry. We don’t know what we don’t know. The psalmist says,”Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!” Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭16‬-‭17.‬ ‭God knows the best for us all in the Spirit so don’t settle for ours in the flesh.

Prayer: O Lord my God, reveal to us our calling, gifts and election that we may be fruitful and multiply for your glory. As I commit my plans to you, direct my steps and close the door that man cannot open and open the door that the devil cannot close. I believe you are the God of my success and the Lord of my soul, who keeps me from all my ways, leading to thy good, perfect and pleasing will, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
