19 January 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” Proverbs‬ ‭21:2-3‬. ‭Pride comes when we think what we do is always right and we tend to see and notice more about others mistakes and imperfections. Jesus revealed the heart of the Pharisees, when he delivered the adulterous woman from her sins. John 8:1-11.

It is easy to judge but difficult to forgive. It is easy to criticise, but difficult to compliment. It is easy to sin, but difficult to repent. Remember we are all sinners saved by the grace through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. God seeks mercy and not condemnation. Matthew 9:13.

How did Jesus responded to the Pharisees, Sadducee, religious elders and everyone who wanted this lady persecuted? “When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” John‬ ‭8:7.‬ ‭Do we have moments in life we have held that stone of judgement, criticism, and resentment? I confess I have my fair share of it and that the reason we need the Heart and Mind of Christ. Life is not about achievements but about love and compassion to see lives transformed for the glory of God!

Prayer: O Lord My God, let my heart be yours, filled with your love and compassion for sinners who could be touched by God, through the grace of the Holy Spirit. Let I also forgive those who have hurt me even in churches or ministries that I have more grace and mercy like you, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
