18 May 2021 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: The word of God cannot profit us if it's not mixed with faith to receive it. Hebrews 4:2. The word of God must convict us to change and renew our mind for continuous transformation and growth that is pleasing to God.

This pandemic shows to us the weakness of the church that lacks fervent prayer. It is a test of our hearts as to whether we follow Christ or our own interests. Majority are moved to complacency. We tend to follow the speaker in YouTube more than following Christ in corporate worship.

We fear being inflicted with the virus more than allowing Christ to overpower them through us and we tend to conform to the world rather than be transformed by the renewal of the mind as prescribed to us in Romans 12:2. If we don't follow Christ in corporate worship we cannot be His disciple. We say God is our refuge and fortress in times of need but we choose to stay away from the strong tower in Jesus Christ. God has assured us again and again not to fear nor be dismayed. We cannot pray or worship in isolation of the Body of Christ. We should not forsake assembly. Hebrews 10:24-25.

Watching sermons on internet cannot replace being with the Body of Christ. We need to encourage each other and build each other up. We are chosen by Him to be His disciple. Romans 8:29-30. Jesus chose twelve disciples to be with Him that He might train them to be fishers of men. Therefore despite the pandemic we need to continue with our Bible study and discipleship lessons even in zoom. We are blessed to have freedom to worship corporately. There are some who desire but are prohibited. Let peace reign in our hearts.

Had the first day church not continue with the assembly despite persecutions we would not have been blessed with the Gospel today. They desire that none will perish but all to come to the knowledge of Christ. We show them the way of life by having Christlike character. Therefore, don't stop assembly. United we stand to destroy the works of the enemy with Jesus Christ at the helm.

Prayer: Lord grant me the grace and the boldness and fervency to pray as one body of Christ ready to squash the satanic devices of the enemy. In Jesus name united we stand in victory in Christ Jesus.
