Today’s Inspiration: “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-17. Paul taught the disciples not to dwell in the past but keep advancing in the spirit. Philippians 3:13-14.
We have to renew our minds daily by the Word of God. We cannot keep doing the same things and expect a new beginning or breakthroughs. It was not God’s will for the disciples to go back old “fishing ways” after Jesus’s resurrection. Similarly they didn’t catch any fish until Jesus shows up. Do not let past disappointments, failures or pain hinder your mind to do new things for the glory of God. We have to move beyond the pain to our purpose in life. Jesus in John 21 reinstated Peter and the disciples and all became apostles for God’s kingdom because when no one who put their hands on the plow and look back is worthy for God’s kingdom. Luke 9:62 New wine requires new wine skin. Be open, be ready and be prepared for the New.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let I not conform to the patterns of this fallen and broken world but be transformed in renewing of my mind in Christ Jesus. I recognised you have prepared new wine of rejoicing and providence in this coming season and may you make me your new wine skin for new opportunities, health, and relationships, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
