Today’s Inspiration: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19 NIV. In this world, many do not have love because many do not know who God is. Even for Christians, we may not fully experience God’s love if we do not prioritise our relationship with Him. We could see clearly today, places without love is filled with fear, anxiety, stress, arguments, divisions, violence and troubles. Love is the presence of God and the heart of Christ. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. A home or family without love can be filled with hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness, resentment, bitterness and anger.
At times we may feel we are not able to love because of our wounds in the past and this is because our love is limited but not God’s. Today you will be surprised that many Christians do not know that God’s love comes from Repentance. Matthew 3:2. We no longer hear much at the pulpit because we desire blessings more than the blesser, the provision more than the provider or the healing more than the healer. Repentance ushers in the Kingdom of God for salvation, sanctification, and holiness into our souls. Once an old preacher said,” God can dwell in a broken vessel but not a dirty one.” Without sanctification, our hearts are hindered by many unclean thoughts, fleshly desires and negative emotions. Repentance brings rest and dependency on God to rely on His grace and mercy for forgiveness. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me to the Cross daily that I may dwell at the altar of sacrifice to repent of all my sins, iniquities and transgressions. Remove all the lust of my flesh, the lust of my eyes and the pride of my life. Guide me away from the patterns of the World and be transformed into your likeness by the renewing of my mind and consecration of my heart with your agape love through repentance, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
