15 June 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.” Proverbs‬ ‭16:19-21‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The wisdom of God always prepares us with His instructions for action. Fear, anxieties and worries come when we are only hearers of the Word but not doers of the Word. James 1:22.

Many don’t realise that stubbornness is the stumbling block to the soul just as the stiff neck Israelites who didn’t obey God in the wilderness, worshiping the golden calf. Exodus 32:9. Pride is spiritual idolatry and blindness, and its root comes from the pain in the past like Egypt. God hates pride and pride always come before a fall. Proverbs 16:18. On the contrary, blessings come from obeying, submitting and yielding to the Word of God, the instructions of Godly Wisdom. When we work on God’s Word, He takes over. Remember God looks at our availability, not capability. Luke 9:23. He is looking for a humble, contrite, and yielded vessel for the master’s use. Without the wisdom of God, there is no success because wisdom only comes from our obedience to His Word. Our success comes from God who builds us up so what we can build others. Nehemiah 2:20. Would you humble yourselves, carry the Cross and follow Jesus today? Salvation shall come into your workplace, family and homes.

Prayer: O Lord my God, pull down every pride in my life and any idols that take my time away from You. Let me be set apart for your plans, purpose and will. Let me be Holy, for you are Holy. Change my heart and wayward ways, that I may seek your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Guard my heart with the fear of the Lord that I will not sin but have success in spreading the gospel of good news to give you all the glory, honour and worship, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
