14 October 2021 Word by Senior Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: Why Jesus loved the children so much was not just because of their childlike faith but most importantly a Pure Heart. Matthew 5:8.

King David was so sorrowful when he sinned against God, that he knew without a pure heart which hides God’s word, he can’t defeat sin. Psalm 119:11 In tears, he sang,” “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” Psalm 51:10-12.

Why David is a man after God’s heart is because God’s heart is holy, pure and righteous. Acts 13:22. It’s only a pure heart that will do God’s will and not our own. Without a pure we can’t see God which Jesus taught at the mount. That’s when I discovered Repentance is not a “dirty” word but a Holy one. Before I knew Christ, this was so because the heart is so easily corrupted without God’s Word, and we don’t like this word because it makes us feel guilty of sin. But after being filled with Holy Spirit, I found it is the most beautiful and powerful word which makes my heart pure, to overcome the world and sin.

Prayer: O Lord Our God, I thank you for your Word for it brings wisdom into my heart. Let me be like David, a man who knows your heart and do your will. Create in me a pure heart Lord, that I may encounter you, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
