Today's Inspiration: Apostle John stressed what Apostle Paul has said in Romans 12:2 on the renewal of the mind not to conform to the world but to His image which is for the purpose we are created for. 1 John 2:15. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the lust of boastful pride of life is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away and also its lusts but the one who does the will of God lives forever. V16-17.

The lusts of this world cannot be easily shaken as they live with us and cling to us. There is a strong tendency to revert back to old sinful nature. The reason lies with the lack of sanctification of the Holy Spirit. This made us focus on what can be seen rather than what cannot be unseen. What is unseen is eternal. To enter into a realm of what can be seen is easy but not what cannot be seen. Hence, we need to put on the full armor of God so that our unseen nature cannot be exposed to the knowledge of the enemy.

The only spiritual weapon that can win the war against the enemy is to allow Christ's attitude, His power and glory of Christ to rest in us rather than allow fear to reign in us that brings greater troubles to us. 1 Peter 4:1-2. We no longer live for the lusts of men but for the will of God. God be praised for His empowerment over us to curb sin n take on His nature of righteousness.

Prayer: Lord, this world is not my own. I am only a passerby given a mission to complete. May I rejoice in Your glory always. In Jesus’ name may I fulfill Your will.
