Today’s Inspiration: Our Christian life is like the salt, formed by water and fire baptism, by which which no salt can be formed. Jesus taught, “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It’s no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. Matthew 5:13-14.
Without salt, our food will be tasteless, and unable to swallow. Without salt, the sea will be filled with stench. The world couldn’t operate without the Salt. And the world wouldn’t be saved without the salvation by Christ who made us like the Salt.
Salt is used to bring healing of sores for teeth, throat, skin and many other health benefits. Salt is also used for sanctification. Saltiness is like our Spiritual life, sanctified by God’s Word and salted by God’s Holy Spirit and Fire to bring the Good News to the lost, poor and needy. 1 Tim 4:5 Sin is always trying to take away the saltiness, fire and zeal for Jesus, making one lukewarm, isolated and insensitive to Holy Spirit. Rev 3:16 Saltiness is like Godliness, for it changes us and the people around. Just like salt brings flavouring to any food, a Godly Christian brings blessing, peace, joy, and love wherever they go like the Salt.
Prayer: O Lord Our God, make us like your salt with your Word of Sanctification and Fire of the Holy Spirit. Let us not led by mediocrity but by your majesty to do greater things that you have spoken over our lives, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
