12 May 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Trinity Community Centre

Today’s Inspiration: “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV. The favour of God comes from His Word and obedience to His instructions for obedience is better than sacrifice. Jesus was taken to the wilderness by the Spirit of God for 40 days and 40 with no water or food, and was tempted by the devil to prevent God’s work. But the three spiritual battles were all won by the spoken Word of God. Christ fought the devil not by signs or wonders, nor it is by His own position or power. It was by the Holy Spirit who spoke the Word of God. Zechariah 4:6.

Salvation of souls, healing of sickness and deliverance of oppression can only be accomplished through the Word of God. Our faith is in Christ alone, who is the Word of God. John 1:1 Today many are hearers of the Word but not doers of the Word. James 1:22. We learnt about love, forgiveness and grace in Sunday sermons but how many practices it daily at home, marketplace and ministry for the glory of God. Do we live for ourselves or for Christ? Are we still in the flesh or walking in the Spirit? The Word of God is a double edged sword which separates the soul and the spirit. Hebrews 4:12 Why? So that we see our own sins, our desperation for God’s grace, and to develop compassion for those who were also wounded in their lives just like us. The healed is to heal.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me partake in your communion and Word daily that I shall be a doer of your Word, not just a hearer. Let there not be any root of bitterness within me and if there is, let them be uprooted by the Sword of your spirit, in humility and repentance. Let me be led by your Spirit and not my flesh, and sanctify my lips and restrain my tongue with thy Word, that in all ways, I shall give you all the glory through your loving kindness, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
