10 August 2021 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: Serve the Lord with your whole hearted devotion and with a willing mind for the Lord searches every heart and understand every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. The Lord has chosen you to build His temple therefore be strong and do the work. 1 Chronicles 28:9-10. This was the wise counsel of David to his son King Solomon.

He also inspired him to be strong and courageous. It's only with these two virtues that you can overcome the oppression of fear and do great works for the Lord. Once you embark on His mission, He will not forsake you until all the work of the service of the Lord is completed. V20.

King Solomon was able to carry out the great works of the Lord because David has provided all the resources for the temple of the Lord. David was able to give generously because deep in his spirit everything belonged to God. 1 Chronicles 29:15. This desire has to be kept within all our hearts to maintain the virtue of a generous heart. What we have given generously is only a portion of what He has given. V14. He set an example for his elders to give generously with joy. May our hearts be always loyal to Him.

Ten golden labor stands lit the temple. Can you imagine the brightness that it brings to the temple of God? It is no wonder that wealth and prosperity reigned during King David and Solomon's time. There was nothing in the Ark of God except the two tablets that Moses had placed in mount Horeb where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they come out of Egypt. Since our body is the temple of the Holy spirit, nothing should occupy our heart except the commandments of the Lord and His statutes.

Unfortunately our heart the entrance and exit of every word of God, is occupied by God and all our desires. It's time to remain focused and not be distracted with the commission God has commanded us so that work could be completed on time like the days of rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem by prophet Nehemiah.

God desires to reside in vessels with pure hearts. So stay cleansed. 2 Corinthians 7:1.

Prayer: God has heard our prayer of dedication and had visited us with His glory. Therefore arise O Lord come to your rest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
