“When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” Lord, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.” Psalm 30:6-7
When this Psalm was used to dedicate the temple of the Lord, it reflected how much God meant to David for the security the Nation of Israel and Judah. David was vulnerable but unshakable because it was God who protects and holds everything in his life and throne. Yet there were times he couldn’t hear or feel God’s presence due to his sins, iniquities and transgressions. Yet he has seers to help him come back to God again. A bruise reed or a smouldering wick, God will not turn away. Isaiah 40:3.
Our security resides in the refuge, fortress and presence of God. When we are vulnerable to God in prayer, worship and seeking His face, He becomes the Rock of our Salvation, our royal mountain that stands firm, unshakable. Praise God!
To God be the glory!
