Sincerity and Reverence

“Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” Colossians‬ ‭3:22-23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sincerity and Reverence

Samuel was looking for the next King of Judah and Israel and was nearly mistaken by outward appearance of Jesse’s elder sons. 1 Samuel 16:7. God looks at not how we rule but how we serve. David was a shepherd boy who learnt how to serve and how to handle criticism and ostracism. He followed his mum in observing God’s command with reverence and gained God’s favor to raise him up as the King over Israel and Judah.

Prayer and Worship helps us move from our thoughts in our minds into God’s presence in our hearts. David knew the way to enter God’s temple is through praise and thanksgiving with his heart. A heart of gratitude is a heart of altitude in the Kingdom of God.
