“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” Ephesians 5:22-24 KJV
Whenever we read this scripture, we can easily misunderstood that God puts man first before the woman in a marriage. On the contrary in v21, it tells us that God created both equal. The key to good marriage is highly dependent on submission to God, which bring love, peace, joy and unity in the family. God’s intention is not for man to Lord over his wife, but to love her deeply. A submissive wife is highly esteemed in God’s eyes like a Proverb 31 woman.
Remember that our relationship with spouse is highly related to our relationship with God. Seeing the best in one another always multiplies in a family. Forgiveness to another increase love and wisdom. Praise God!
