Guard Your Mind

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If we read the news, believe the trends and follow the majority of the world, you will see the patterns of sinful, corrupted and defiled lifestyles full of fleshly desires. And today many patterns could easily enter the church to behave like the world in many ways. Do we see more of Christ in the church or the world today? To renew our mind is more than repentance, and changing our minds. It is to give everything in our lives to Jesus. This requires a breaking process.

To follow Christ, renewing of our minds is to break away from sins, worldly ways and fleshly desires. Only the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God can sever ungodly soul ties and break deep sinful bondages of worldly patterns, habits and behaviours. Ephesians 6:17. In Christ, you shall be a new creation, for the old shall pass and the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17.

To God be the glory!
