Divine Presence

“He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah” Psalms‬ ‭24‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A pure heart is a contrite heart and broken spirit whose sole weight and dependency is on the Lord. Most people come to church for blessings rather than for God’s presence. Such is a religious spirit, which comes from Idolatry, especially in Asia context.

How do you know if it is a religious spirit? You can get what you want or desire without building an intimate relationship with God. Like the Pharisees who were white washed tombs on the outside but deep inside were dead man bones. Matthew 23:27. We can all come to church for the Lord’s blessing but not His presence. Without the presence of God, there is no conviction, confession and transformation. A church can be filled with gift of the spirit but is divided because they do not bear the fruit of the spirit who brings unity, anointing, and the love of God.

What do you seek God for? How is your relationship with God? As a parent, I discern the presence of my children and mine to them. They love me not because I give them good gifts and fulfil the desires of their heart but because I discipline them to know what is right from wrong. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 9:10.

To God be the glory!

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
