9 November 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭14‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The Church today badly needs the Zeal for the House of God and the Spirit of God. Without the passion for the House of God, we will not desire the gathering to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Things of the world can so easily take our focus away from the Father’s House.

Therefore we imminently and desperately need to have the Holy Spirit in the Church and in our lives daily. Remember Jesus told the disciples to gather so that they be filled with power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8. Today after the pandemic and even now the endemic, many have left churches. Why did the disciples go fishing instead of praying? They forgotten their zeal and passion for souls and Jesus has to manifest His presence to bring them back on track to be baptised by the Holy Spirit which He promised. Encounters break lukewarmness. Peter was reinstated with the rest. Remember it wasn’t peace time but chaotic time when Romans imprison and kill Christians, yet the power of the Holy Spirit became the power of Evangelism. Acts 2:14. Peter stood up to share the gospel and 3000 families got saved. His zeal and passion for Christ shook the entire Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria. Never underestimate your zeal and passion for Jesus. It is when and where the supernatural happens. Time to get back your zeal and passion. Praise God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, let my heart be filled with your zeal and passion for the Father’s House and the lost souls in my family, colleagues, friends and community. Let I not be alone but be engaged with my fellow believers to pray, fast and be hungry for more of your Holy Spirit and Fire, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
