9 December 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬. Many today speak about faith but few really take actions of faith. Jesus taught his disciples to deny themselves, carry the cross and follow Him. Luke 9:23. Abraham believed God not just by words but was willing to sacrifice Isaac at Mount Moriah. Esther fasted and prayed, and was willing to risk her life of death sentence by the king to save the Jews from annihilation and Apostle Paul was willing to take all the sufferings and shipwrecks so that the gentiles can be saved. Without shedding the Blood of the Lamb of God, there is no forgiveness of sins for our souls. Hebrews 9:22.

The power of the church is not of it’s size, riches or outlook but how much she is going to pay the price for evangelism, discipleship and missions. All worldly pursuits cannot defeat the devil. If Jesus defeated the devil and death by His Holy blood at the Cross and His resurrection by His Holy Spirit from the tomb, how much more we need to understand that the power of Christ is exemplified in the living sacrifice. The world success is having more of self and less of God but kingdom success is having less of self but more of God. John 3:30. The meaning of Worship in Hebrew is Shachah, meaning to bow down or prostrate or lay all down before God. The church has to step out and go out to evangelise so that the souls can comes in. It is not a club but a refuge for rescue. Salvation is not an express ticket to heaven. On the contrary, it is the process of sacrifice, sanctification, and submission to God as a living sacrifice for His divine purpose and use. He is the potter and we are the clay. Without the crucifixion of the flesh there is no revelation of the Holy Spirit. Let there be actions in our Holy faith.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me learn to offer myself as a living sacrifice, wholly set apart for you. Let me be lesser and you be greater within me. May I not give unto the Lord that will cost me nothing but rather may my Spirit be willing to pay the price for the salvation of souls and take up my cross to follow you, Lord. Let me learn to love like you who gave it all for my healing and salvation, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
