Today’s Inspiration: “And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.” Exodus 17:9 NKJV. Prioritising prayer life is key to have a victorious life. The battle with the Amalakites was a classic in the Bible where we learnt that all battles won were not by might nor power but by the Spirit of God. Zechariah 4:6 God was opening the eyes of Moses the importance of His personal prayer life and the corporate altar. Should he walk up alone in the Mountain, the Israelites would have fallen in the battle. But he went up with Aaron and Hur who were his levites to lift up the Rod of God, which is our praise and worship unto God. Hence our personal and family altar are the foundation of spirituality in a Christian home.

What do we learn from the Battle against the Amalekites? Our battles are related to our prayers and our intercession is related to our victory over all enemies. “And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.” Exodus 17:11-12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12. Joshua may have put on his best amour physically but without the full Spiritual amour which Moses and his Levites put on, we will not understand what is spiritual victory. An altar was build that day called the Lord is my Banner, my victory. Exodus 17:15. If we want victory in our lives, build the Altar. Remember Moses was more than eighty years old and to raise His hands till sunset was divinely supernatural and all the enemies were defeated. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, this day I shall raise up my hands with thy Rod to give you all the praises, prayers, petitions and thanksgiving in my heart. For you Lord is my banner and my victory. Strengthen and lift me with your mighty right hand, as I put on the full amour of God to pray and build your altar, for you are my God who shall fight all my battles for they belongs to you Lord, my Jehovah Nissi, my Banner, in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
