Today's Inspiration: As Nehemiah declared in Nehemiah 2:20 it's the Lord who will grant him success to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. As he was dependent on God in the wisdom to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, the work that was meant to complete in years was successfully rebuilt in 52 days.
Success or failure lies in the sovereignty of the Lord. Sometimes what you desire may not be His desires. In Jeremiah 45:4 He proclaimed that what He had built He will break down and what He had planted He will pluck up that is the whole land. Hence our success or defeat depends on His sovereignty.
God does not want to take on challenge in our own hands but to commune with Him how to achieve success. We need to treat the Holy Spirit as a person who counsels, teaches and guides us. David was considered a man after God's heart because he communes regularly with the Holy Spirit and will not go to battle without His wise counsel before he launches out to the battlefield. This is why he knows when to go to battle field and when to retreat when he knew Saul was coming to pursue him. This truth is specified very clearly in the battle against the Philistines at Kelilah in 1 Samuel 23:1-14. David did not depend on his own intellect and skill but in full dependence upon the Holy Spirit for his life. Our work must be tied up to a noble goal and purpose for the glory of God.
Investing in moments of stillness before the Lord is rewarding as can be seen from the life of David who focus on dwelling in the courts of our Lord, meditating and reflecting before Him. The more he does that, the greater the wisdom to produce marvellous results. Even a few moments of interaction with the Lord will bring wisdom to your ears that nourish your spirit, soul and body causing you to arise beyond your comprehension. Psalm 119:99. Communication is therefore key to success in every exploit. He who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. Psalm 12:10 God be praised.
Prayer: I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears. I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. By the word of the Lord He established me and kept me secure in the secret place of the most high God. In Jesus name Amen
