19 May 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61:1-2 NIV. The anointing of the Holy Spirit only comes upon a yielded vessel, like the life of Christ. For unless God builds, we labour in vain and unless God watches over the city we watches in vain. Psalm 127:1.

The purpose of our life resides in the divine word and plans of God. Jeremiah 29:11. Jesus is the way, truth and life. John 14:6. Our greatest giving reveals our greatest purpose in the Kingdom of God and this was shown and demonstrated in the life of Christ. One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭24‬-‭25.‬ ‭We are not just called to be a blessed children of God but more so a divine blessing to the poor, broken, captives and prisoners, prophesied by Isaiah about the Lord, the Spirit of Christ. Praise God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, your purpose is larger than life. Lead me daily to be a giver and not just a receiver. For it is more blessed to give than to receive. Refresh my Spirit as I yield to you as a vessel of blessings to others just as your life was poured out at the Cross and gave us your Holy Spirit. Use me to provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
