17 October 2021 Word by Senior Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: Apostle Paul gave a true revelation of Jesus by demonstration and sacrifice before he left Ephesus and it deeply touched the elders with tears. He said,” I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35. The delight of receiving is only temporal but the joy of giving and helping those who are in need last forever.

Jesus’s heart and burden is always for the Mission field, and so are His disciples. True wealth in life is not how much you have but how much you give like Jesus. Remember our eternal mansion in heaven is not how much money you have in the bank but how you sow like Christ.

Like the widow who out gave all the rich people, out of her poverty and faith with her two copper coins to build the temple. Mark 12:43 Jesus said her heart is richer than all the donors. I believe her mansion in the Kingdom will be huge. Why do you think many people are afraid of tithing and giving offerings? It is because tithing and offering breaks the poverty in the heart and opens the heaven for God’s blessings. Malachi 3:10-11 That’s why when we withhold giving, we put mammon as our idol and rob God of His blessing for our lives. An old pastor once told me as a young Christian, “Do you eat the seed when you eat an apple and expect more fruits?” Sowing acknowledges God is our provider. He is the Firstfruit.

Prayer: O Lord Our God, for you love a generous and cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Lead me to sow that I may encounter your harvest and bear much fruits as your witness, for you are my Jehovah Jireh, my Lord and Provider, in Jesus’ Name!
