15 December 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The Pharisees, who are religious leaders complained to the disciples of Jesus on why must they eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners. The sickness of the soul is sin. Romans 3:23. We don’t get sick overnight nor failure comes suddenly. It has to do with our early and daily life, incrementally and cumulatively. Are we having more of self or more of Christ? Are we having healthy diet and God’s manna daily? Are our attitude, behaviour, character becoming godly or worldly?

Remember the prayer of the proud Pharisee and the sinful Tax collector in Luke 18:10-14 God does not just see what we do, but who we are deep within. The Pharisee was boasting his religious acts but the Tax Collector was repenting his sinful ways. The latter prayer were justified by God. God does not see our outward appearance but inward attitude. One can be rich outside but corrupted within, yet one may not have much but is like Christ. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, didn’t come on earth to get real estate, cars or material things which the world pursue, rather He came to do the Father’s Work, which is to bring salvation to the lost, healing to the sick and restore the broken into the kingdom of God with love. John 5:19. A Christian is not a name, religion or brand. Apart from Christ, it is not Christianity.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me be lesser and you be greater. Let me not follow the patterns of the world or the flesh but renew my mind to follow the way of Christ within me. Guide me to walk with you according to your Word and to follow the Father’s Work. Let my prayer be thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and your kingdom shall come to save many in Jesus' Name, Amen.
