Today’s Inspiration: “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NIV. Disobedience is the greatest obstacle to the blessings of God. An 11 days journey to the promised land of God by the Israelites turns out to be 40 years in the wilderness. Deuteronomy 1:2. Why?
It is because of complains, grumbling, and rebellion in the flesh of the Israelites. They were more hungry for the provision than the provider and His presence. Their light of God’s glorious deliverance were overshadowed by their corrupted talk and complains. Paul taught,” Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” Philippians 2:14-15. Complain is like a curse which grows bitterness in the soul. It opens door to poverty, division, sickness, illness, and diseases. Many repents of their sins but few repents of their negative words, swearing, complaining, and grumbling. They are demonic languages. Before the Lord blesses and uses us, He will first sanctify our lips and tongues. Isaiah 6:7 Breakthroughs come when we stop complaining and start praying in thanksgiving and blessings.
Prayer: O Lord my God, sanctify my tongue and forgive all the careless, callous, and critical words I have spoken in the past as you bring it to remembrance. May the Word in my mouth and meditation of your word in my heart be pleasing to you. Change my heart o lord, and if there are any offences or bitterness in me, remove them and cast it into the sea, that my life shall shine for the Lord, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
