11 October 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Every revelation flows out of our personal prayer altar and relationship with God. Many of us know about the Cross, but few carries it. Many of us know the westernised Christ but few know about the crucified Christ. How can we have more of Jesus? Ironically, we have to first have less of ourselves. John 3:30. If we really know Jesus, he is not a celebrity, not a politician and definitely not a businessman. He is a private, personal, and prayerful messiah, Lord and King. The gospel is not like the world for who would deny himself, carry the Cross and follow a man who doesn’t have a bungalow, billions and only wear basic clothes. What is our Christianity about? How is Christ like?

Prophet Isaiah gave the most clearest vision. “He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah‬ ‭53:2-5‬. ‭I believe this will change the course of our modern Christianity and return back to our age old foundation to be built, which shall supernaturally change our discipleship and relationship with God.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me not look at how the world know Christianity but be enlightened by the law and the prophets in your Holy Word, who vividly described Christ. Let Christ be the reflection of perfection which you have created us to be and may we be different from the world to win souls for the Kingdom of God through repentance and restitution, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
