Today's Inspiration: But a generous person devises generous things and by generosity he shall stand. Isaiah 32:8. The Lord loves a generous spirit. He gave His life that we might live in eternity.
He is generous with His love and forgiveness when He narrated the parable of the prodigal son. His generosity of love and provision were also seen in the parable of the Samaritan. His generosity of compassion is seen when He heals the sick and when He stretched out His hands to the disobedient people when they revel against Him. No amount of miracles could move the heart of the people to return that love when circumstances were tough as they traveled through wilderness. Yet God did not forsake them but provided manna and water for them when there were none. Such is the generosity of our God.
How generous are you towards God? This world is not your own. You are only a passerby given a mission to complete. How are you returning that sacrificial love?
God loves a cheerful giver. God is able to make all grace abounding to you that you will always have sufficiency in all things and have abundance in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8.
Do not allow flesh to empower you to withhold what is due to the Lord as flesh is enmity towards God. Carnality cannot tear down strongholds nor knock out the tormenting and turbulent thoughts that deter you from obtaining God's promises. Only captivity to the obedience of Christ can enable us to overcome all spiritual battles wedged against us. God be praised.
Prayer: Thanks be to God for the indescribable gift of generosity. May we not boast beyond measure but within the limits of sphere which God appointed - a sphere that includes you. God is not mocked. What we sow, He sees that we reap. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
