“With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” Acts 2:40-41 NIV
How does revival look like? It is all written in the Bible two thousand years ago in the day of Pentecost by Peter and the apostles. And the Church today is desperate seeking one since the Charismatic Renewal in Singapore in the 70s. How come the number of new souls have plateau in our Nation?
Like the Israelites and any developed country today, we have become complacent, materialistic, wanting our quails, seeking liberal lifestyles and self-centred lives, similarly in the days of Egypt. Do we know we can leave Egypt physically, but the heart has not spiritually, mentally and emotionally departed or detached? Sin keeps our conscience and spirit in slumber, indifference and lukewarmness. Revelation 3:16. Why did the revival come during Pentecost and the Charismatic Movement? It was a deep desperation and dependency on God wholeheartedly due to persecution on the disciples of Jesus Christ. Such attitude ignites the flames of evangelism, baptism of Holy Spirit and manifests the wonders of God.
Hence, we have to rebuild our broken altars and the forsaken conditions of our souls. We can be so busy doing what we want and not what God wants. Until we see personal sacrifices for prayer, seeking God’s word daily and His presence, the fire will not come. Let’s begin to build our personal prayer altar and seek forth a personal revival from the Lord. 1 Kings 18:30. How do we know? When we have the hunger for souls. Praise God!
To God be the glory!
With Love Always,
