…not to harm…

“The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished. Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Many pray for success but few reflect on their failures. In 2023, we may have made certain mistakes or sin against God in many ways in the flesh. We don’t want to sweep all the dirt under the carpet but know that God love us so much to take our sins at the Cross and to die for us as atonement, that we might have the courage, conviction and commitment to make changes to our lives.

Know this, our Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live.” Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Correction is not condemnation but unto Christ. We do not learn from our mistakes and failings by fearing, blaming and grumbling. Rather, we learn by humility, obedience and trust in God’s Word to sanctify us. Without correction, we can’t have Christ like character. Without crucifixion, there is no resurrection.

To God be the glory!
